Communication Committee
The purpose of the Communications Committee is to develop and maintain appropriate standards for communication and information sharing via the agencies with which we outsource. In addition, this committee is responsible for the solicitation and dissemination of knowledge through various channels.
Committee Goals
- Produce three quality hard copy issues of the newsletter each year in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Solicit articles from people at different hierarchical levels, areas of responsibility and years of experience
- Solicit articles from institutions of different sizes and scope from across the region
- Continue to improve the look of the newsletter through feedback from association members and Communications Committee members
- Establish and maintain accurate electronic archive records of the newsletter
- Provide a newsletter that is representative of the organizations values, needs and current issues
- Actively promote the newsletter as a vehicle through which members can participate in the Association
- Maintain an annotated bibliography of the newsletter issues
- Maintain a working relationship with the printer and mailing service to make the outsourcing process as smooth as possible for the organization
- Monitor and suggest changes to the web page for UMR-ACUHO and encourage other committees to maintain their content
- Maintain working relationships with other committees to collaboratively work towards the goals of the Association
- Present programs and interactive educational opportunities at the annual conference
- Publish an online version of current issue and explore alternative media outlets for Association communications
- Develop an internal document establishing professional standards for the newsletter
