Program Committee

The Program Committee is responsible for recruitment and assembly of the educational sessions presented at the annual conference. The committee is charged with developing a conference program which provides opportunity for exploration of timely and important topics to professionals within the field of student housing/ residence life.

Program presenters have been notified of their status for the 2008 UMR ACUHO Conference. Thank you to all who submitted programs!

Committee Goals

  • Recruit quality programs with different presentation style

  • Recruit quality programs with different presentation styles by:
    • Newsletter article to recruit from Mid and Senior housing professionals

    • Send a follow letter if some cancels a program presentation

    • Ask high rated programs to present again to help fill in for any canceled programs

    • Work collaboratively with other committees to recruit and work together to inform the conference attendees to create a meaningful and worthwhile experience

  • Continue to facilitate a positive experience for those who submit and present programs

  • Communicate with our buddies to help and support each other, and help hold each other accountable when contacting presenters

  • Balancing each session to make sure that there are programs of interest for professionals of all levels.

  • Identify and promote "hot topic" programs and work together with other committees to find and recruit these programs

  • Contact presenters that were highly rated programs to invite and encourage them to present again this year.

  • We will critically examine each program proposal we receive to determine the suitability and making sure it fits with the goals and mission of UMR and with the needs of conference attendees

  •  We will foster a sense of inclusiveness to all forms of human diversity that are represented in our Upper Midwest Region
