A Note from the President

UMR-ACUHO is a professional organization dedicated to serving the dynamic needs of Housing and Residence Life staff in our region.  UMR-ACUHO membership offers many benefits for staff of member institutions, including reduced registration costs for the annual conference, three informative newsletters, and a valuable network of resources.  UMR-ACUHO is committed to providing these services in the most economical manner possible, while returning to its members a valuable experience.

UMR-ACUHO provides numerous opportunities for personal and professional involvement.  We have over 122 volunteer committee members who are the active voice and change agents of the organization.  Members are invited to attend and present programs at the annual conference, and write for publication in the UMR-ACUHO News. Research grants and scholarships are available for members pursuing graduate education.  Ultimately, there are networking opportunities with well over 1600 housing professionals at over 100 member institutions.

UMR-ACUHO is a regional association that has a feeling of home for many great professionals. I began my career in this region and have worked in other regions and now have returned home to this region and this associtation. With a history of outstanding annual conferences, supportive professional colleagues and amazing opportunities for young and “older” professionals to gain from and contribute to the organization, UMR-ACUHO is well worth the membership.  This Association has done a great deal for me and can do so for you too!

I hope you will take advantage of the many educational opportunities available to you and your staff members.  Please consider joining UMR-ACUHO today!
