Note from the President

UMR-ACUHO is a professional association dedicated to meeting and exceeding the professional development needs of Housing and Residence Life staff in our region. The benefits of being a UMR-ACUHO member are numerous, but include: reduced registration fees for the annual conference, a free job posting site, three informative magazine/newsletters, and a valuable network of resources. UMR-ACUHO is passionate about providing these services in the most economical manner possible, while providing for its members a valuable experience.

UMR-ACUHO provides extensive opportunities for personal and professional involvement to its members. We have over 120 volunteer committee members who are the backbone of our organization, as they actively work to provide a valuable experience for all who take advantage of any of our activities/services.  Members are invited to attend and present programs at the annual conference, are encouraged to submit articles for publication in the UMR-ACUHO 'Perspectives' magazine, and to apply for research grants and scholarships  which are made available to members pursuing graduate education. One of our Association's points of pride is that we provide networking opportunities with approximately 1600 housing professionals located at over 100 member institutions.

UMR-ACUHO is a regional association that fortunately abounds with many great and well respected professionals. For well over 15 years I have made UMR my professional development 'home' and hope that you find it just as welcoming and enriching. With an honored history of outstanding annual conferences, supportive professional colleagues and highly sought out opportunities for area professionals, regardless of age or level of experience, UMR-ACUHO is well worth the price of membership. I cannot possibly put into words what this Association has done for me, so I have no doubt that you would be pleased with your membership.
